EC Competences and Programmes within the Field of Education / Compétences et programmes communautaires en matière d'éducation

This publication reproduces some of the proceedings and papers presented at a series of seminars held on EC policies on education and the various aspects of this policy as it relates to Central and Eastern Europe. The educational policies of other European organizations of interest to Central and Eastern Europe are also dealt with. The objective of this work is to provide civil servants, university professors and administrators, and ministries of education with a basic understanding of EC programmes, with special attention given to the TEMPUS programme.
The topics addressed include a general overview of the Community's institutions and legal capacity to act, EC aid programmes for Central and Eastern Europe, EC competences in the field of education and mutual recognition of diplomas.
