Professor
Dr Simon Duke is a Professor at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), Maastricht, Netherlands. He has a doctorate from the University of Oxford. Prior to EIPA he held positions at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, the Mershon Center (Ohio State University), The Pennsylvania State University and the Central European University. He is the author of several monographs on European and transatlantic foreign and security issues, including The Elusive Quest for European Security: From EDC to CFSP (Macmillan/St Antony’s, 2000), The EU and Crisis Management: Development and Prospects (EIPA, 2002) and Beyond the Chapter: Enlargement Challenges for CFSP and ESDP (EIPA, 2003). He has also published on similar themes in numerous academic journals. He also serves as adjunct faculty at the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville Virginia and is co-Executive Editor of the Journal of European Integration.

Dr Simon Duke est professeur à l’Institut européen d’administration publique (IEAP), Maastricht, Pays-Bas. Il est titulaire d’un doctorat de l’Université d’Oxford. Avant d’entrer à l’IEAP, il a occupé divers postes à l’Institut international de recherche sur la paix de Stockholm, au Mershon Center (Université de l’Etat d’Ohio), à l’Université de l’Etat de Pennsylvanie et à l’Université d’Europe centrale. Il est l’auteur de plusieurs monographies consacrées aux questions de politique étrangère et de sécurité au niveau européen et transatlantique, notamment The Elusive Quest for European Security: From EDC to CFSP (Macmillan/St Antony’s, 2000), The EU and Crisis Management: Development and Prospects (IEAP, 2002) et Beyond the Chapter: Enlargement Challenges for CFSP and ESDP (IEAP, 2003).
